The Southeast CDC sponsors the operation of the Baltimore Bike Experience weekly community bike shop for youth and adults to learn bicycle repair and participate in group rides around Southeast Baltimore neighborhoods.
BBX creates a holistic learning environment where the bicycle becomes the vehicle for self-empowerment, expression, and positive relationship building. BBX has resulted in job placements, improved school attendance and teacher-student relationships, and providing youth with a sense of community and purpose. Our goals are to:
- Cultivate an inclusive, positive, safe, fun and friendly environment for all participants.
- Teach bicycle terminology, repair, tools, and skills.
- Practice proper bicycle riding techniques and traffic riding.
- Share and educate the public about what we do through neighborhood rides and digital media.

In fall 2022, the Baltimore Bike Experience moved into their newly renovated workshop at 2912 Pulaski Highway.
